The Merchant Shipping Act, 1894, has repealed and re-enacted Section 48 of the Merchant Shipping (fishing Boats) Act, 1883, mentioned on page 80, and has also enabled the Corporations of Municipal Boroughs, being ports in the United Kingdom, to appropriate, with the consent of the Local Government Board, lands belonging to them as sites for sailors' homes.
