Author Biography:

Julie Evans is Senior Lecturer in Music Education at Canterbury Christ Church University. She has been a music teacher and head of music in five secondary schools as well as an instrumental teacher of violin and piano. Chris Philpott is Head of the Department of Secondary Education at the University of Greenwich and has been responsible for Secondary PGCE music programmes in two universities.
