Description

Christine Valters Paintner has traveled through grief, an endeavor which has brought her face-to-face with what she calls the "midwinter God"--the seeming absence of the God of life in the dark and fallow seasons of loss. In A Midwinter God, Paintner guides and invites us to move toward spiritual maturity by entering the wisdom of holy darkness and embracing humility as the pathway to joy. She shows us that darkness is a place where seeds of holiness begin to germinate. We can encounter the midwinter God with vulnerable courage that leads us to wholeness.
