A Man's Workbook offers a companion product that is tied seamlessly to the Helping Men Recover Facilitator's Guide. This participant workbook has four modules (self, relationships, sexuality, and spirituality) and allows men to process and record the therapeutic experience. It contains exercises for use in group sessions, summaries of information presented from the facilitator's guide, and reflection questions and activities for use after group sessions. There is also a criminal justice version of the workbook which is designed specifically for men in criminal justice settings.

Author Biography:

Stephanie S. Covington, PhD is a nationally renowned clinician, author, consultant and lecturer. A pioneer in the field of addiction and recovery for more than 25 years, she has developed an innovative, gender-responsive approach to treatment. Her clients include the Betty Ford Treatment Center, the United Nations Officde on Drugs and Crime, the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment in Washington D.C., the CaliforniaDepartment of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and others. Educated at Colmbia University,she has taught at USC, San Diego State, and CSPP. She is the author of the JB/Wiley training package Helping Women Recover (see below for sales figures). Dan Griffin, M.A.,, has worked in the addiction field for more than 13 years, and for the last 7 years specifically in the drug court field, guiding the systemic shift of policy towards men coming into the legal system addicted to alcohol and other drugs. He is the author of Recovering Masculinity: Men's Transformation through the Twelve Steps to be publihsed by Hazeldon in the fall of 2009. Rick Dauer is the Clinical Director at River Ridge Treatment Center in Burnsville, Minnesota. He has been a chemical dependency professional since 1984. Rick supervised the first pilot program that utilized the Helping Women Recover curriculum and has been a long-time advocate and practitioner of gender responsive treatment.
