I've always said if you want to see a damn good show watch one produced from Britain. BBC has brought out some of the best television since its formation and this product Torchwood: Children of Earth is NO exception. So lets break down Torchwood..
What is it about?
Torchwood was first mentioned in Doctor Who as a mysterious organization dealing with extraterrestrial affairs much like “UNIT” (which you'll remember from earlier Doctor Who seasons). Torchwood in fact was the direct result of the Queens anger towards the Doctor.. Theres a bit of trivia. The new producers of Doctor Who wanted to create a show that still kept that Doctor Who element, but aimed at a more adult minded audience. Hence Torchwood was born.
And this set?
I've got to hand it to the producers of this season, sure it's short, but it is so much more than just five episodes. It's a miniseries that's as down to earth as the news. At times I cried, shouted, cheered on for the team. I would have to say it was a brilliant buy, perfect for Blu Ray; the quality is just supreme. Mighty Ape had the best deal (and believe me I looked hard to find somebody to beat that ape's price).
Once you've seen this series you'll be hooked. xD
