Temuera Morrison – TEM album on CD. One of New Zealand’s foremost actors TEMUERA MORRISON is broadening his extensive repertoire by releasing an album of stripped back recordings on November 28th.
The 11 track album was recorded at Auckland’s Parachute Studios by Sam
De Jong (Benny Tipene, Stan Walker, Ginny Blackmore, Whenua Patuwai) where they
worked extensively to create a selection of favourite singalong classics that
Tem grew up with.
Tem’s much loved humorous personality shines through every track on the album
singing Sam Cooke, Elvis Presley and The Beatles, however his cover of the Maori
love song ‘E Ipo’ is a particularly special track as it features country
legend Dennis Marsh.
Speaking of the album, TEMUERA MORRISON recounts his influences and growing up
in musical family;
‘Music has been a big part of my life and I’m really happy I can share this record with everyone. I grew up surrounded by music, my dad used to play these classic records frequently.’
TEMUERA MORRISON, known to friends and family as Tem, is a household name across the country. Appearing in some of New Zealand’s most monumental films, Temuera has secured his place in modern cinematic history and now will make his mark on music.
