Excellent biography of Judy Garland's later years after she was no longer making movies. Renee Zellweger does a marvellous job portraying the troubled woman she became after all the fame in her youth. The audiences remembered and loved her singing. Sadly her health both mental and physical were not good and so she died young.

There was much expectation looking forward to what should have been a great biopic, sadly not so. While I don't wish to diminish the tragic life story portrayed in Judy, it is not riveting viewing. The film is peppered with small flashbacks which barely demonstrate and don't do justice the pressure Garland was under as a child. Zelwegger is good in the role but not great however the hollywood oscar machine would have us believe this to be otherwise. Had this not been about their own hollywood royalty I would suggest a nomination would have been as far as it would have got. It is simply not in the league of other biopics such as a “beautiful mind” or “the theory of everything”. Best wait till it hits the sales before buying.
