This review is based purely upon first impressions. As you'll see I doubt I'll get deeper into the game.
First, Rugby League Live cannot be played in 1920 X 1080 resolution. HES kindly confirmed this for me in reply to an e-mail. Considering that this is more the standard resolution these days this would seem to be a major oversight by the game's designers even if it is an obvious console port. The screenshots misrepresent the actual game experience. The game looks atrocious on my monitor at the lesser resolutions for which the game is designed.
Second, having owned and enjoyed both Rugby League and Rugby League 2, I see nothing new here in terms of presentation and game play. I'll admit that I haven't gone deeply into the game because it looks so bad on my system.
If you're still playing the earlier versions I see no reason to buy this game.
