Small town nurse Miranda Wells (Rosamund Pike) is brutally raped in her own home by a mysterious man (Shiloh Fernandez). Following his arrest, she starts to write to her attacker but the letters are returned unopened.
Determined to confront him, she begins regular prison visitations, against her father Mitchell’s (Nick Nolte) express wishes. Unable to understand his daughter’s inÂtentions, his fears for her safety are heightened when her assailant is finally paroled…but has he underestimated her strength and resolve?
