When I first tried these Razer Hammerhead V2s, I was incredibly disappointed. Having been an avid user of Razer Hammerhead v1s for a few years, I found the V2s to be “tinny” and lacking bass. I was able to improve the sound a bit on my PC by using an equalizer, but that didn't help with how bad they sounded in other devices such as my phone.
After much frustration I went online and asked a friend to recommend another brand of earbuds, and instead he advised me to try removing the V2 default cone-shaped earbud tips and put one of the other regular types on the headphones (the V2s come with 3 other types of tip). I tried the medium-sized ones and BOOM, suddenly I was hearing all the delightful bass these earbuds had to offer. Apparently the default tips just didn't fit my ears very well.
After this, I grabbed my old broken Hammerhead V1s and nicked the earbud tips off those (the old “double tip-style” ones Razer used in previous models) and put those on. Even better!
So if you try these earbuds out and they seem a bit lackluster, try using one of the other sets of earbud tips before giving up on them prematurely.
