Winner of 7 Awards at the Australian Blues Music Chain Awards, Jan Preston plays festivals and concerts throughout Australia, NZ, the UK, Europe and China, tours her own shows and writes music for films and television, such as the theme to ABC TV’s Australian Story.
Many of the songs on this album express her love of the piano, from ‘The Ivories are Calling’ and ‘Keeper of the 88s’ to ‘Boogie the Blues Away’ and ’20 Fingers on 88 Keys’.
If you like Jan’s quirky boogie piano version of the Rolling Stones’ ‘Honky Tonk Woman’, and her outrageous interpretation of Beethoven’s ‘Fur Elis’, then you will find her thunderous rendition of Jack Fina’s show stopping ‘Bumble Boogie’ unforgettable.
