The MSI R9 390 is the most beautiful graphics card I have ever seen especially with the black and red theme and the sexy back plate with the MSI dragon on it!
With the MSI R9 390, I am running games effortlessly on 1080P and 1440P at 60 fps on ultra settings, that includes Far Cry 4, GTA V and Metro Last Light. Coming in with 8GB GDDR5 it really helps for high resolutions and detailed textures and effects.
It comes with a MSI gaming APP, which allows you to change the LED on the graphics card to breathing, flashing, double flashing etc.. The APP also has a On Screen Display built in which is really handy if you wanna see what temps you are in games or in benchmarks. It also has 3 different modes for viewing your content
EYE REST MODE: Helps you sleep and rest better by reducing the blue light balance of your screen to let your body acclimatize to the night time.
GAMING MODE
More intense colors and increased contrast let you live the gaming life as the creators meant it.
MOVIE MODE
Dynamically adjusts Gamma and Contrast ratios for the clearest movie viewing experience.
Another major feature of the APP is the ability to change the clock speeds of the card. 1000MHz for Silent mode , 1040MHz for Gaming mode and 1060MHz for OC mode. For me with my case it sits around 55–58C on idle which is awesome! but what is even more awesome is that the fans are not spinning so it is quiet. The fans start when you start something intensive like a benchmark or a game. The hottest my 390 got to was around 74C in benchmarks and games. Also having a really good airflow helps tremendously.
I think that brings me to the conclusion of this graphics card.
- If you want something beefy and not to expensive this would be able to run games on very high settings at 1080P, 1440P at fps this would do it.
- If you want something black and red this would be perfect.
- If you want something that is quiet and cool. This would be your card.
- If you are wanting to change the clock speeds around you can.
- If you are wanting to change the colours and customize the settings in the APP you can.
Final Verdict of the MSI R9 390 is a solid 10/10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I think it deserves the BAD ASS TOKEN!!
