Jethro Tull are a unique phenomenon in popular music history. Their mix of hard rock; folk melodies; blues licks; surreal, impossibly dense lyrics; and overall profundity defied easy analysis, but that didn't dissuade fans from giving them eleven gold and five platinum albums. Formed in 1967 by Ian Anderson, Jethro Tull went on to sell over 60 million albums worldwide and become one of the most commercially successful and eccentric progressive-rock bands.
Released in June 1972, LIVING IN THE PAST is a double platinum award winning compilation by Jethro Tull containing a collection of album tracks, out-takes and singles, two of which were recorded live at Carnegie Hall.
