They should have left her alone.
Agoraphobia/noun: a panic disorder characterized by abnormal persistent fear and severe anxiety of public places and open spaces. In extreme cases, the victim is socially paralyzed by a pathological fear of being in public places, resulting in the sufferer becoming housebound.
Anna Rook is afflicted with agoraphobia so crippling that when a trio of home invaders break into her old Victorian house on the outskirts of town, she is unable to flee, frozen by her phobia. The intruders soon discover that survival brings out the worst in a girl. Anna, hardly helpless, is harboring dark secrets and is deeply disturbed on many levels.
