"Strong romance amongst a hypocrite world"

I like this. It is full of hormones, love, jealousy. Vengeance and war situations AD 1944 The initial scene is of allies vs Germans It is depicting in fear. I see this scene like the Hobbit hiding from the Black rider beside the road, trembling. Our Sergeant Saul wins with bloodshed and gains then a week leave. Along with his sten-gun, in Normandie, hardly free from German soldiers, he is looking for peace and rest. He sees a beautiful girl in peasant dress living in a Normandic cottage. She is more beautiful than any movie star I have seen. The ladiy is besieged by French hoodlums of the resistance, 'Why- Because she was once invited to a dance evening with Germans. They attempted to rape her. She flees hurt and bleeding. Did not betray her patriots. But The French are stupid to hold vengeance to her for being misled. Stupid men like Germans. Visit a village and lay your eyes on the proclaimed Belle , they will hate you. Our Knight in shiny armour is Saul. The contrasts are War and death to a Green pasture, Love and an angelic woman. Fear and peace Many romantic situations arise always threatened by the armed presence of the French hoodlums ready to kill her. Marriage- The priest refuses. Escape- The army refuses. Fleeing- Love for here and eternity ensues

This movie, so profound in its display is so that I have never seen better It is shocking to see what the world at war is. Romance, drama, romance, ten/10

Description

A Soldier's Tale is a 1989 New Zealand war drama film on DVD, directed by Larry Parr.

In the wake of the World War II Allied invasion of Normandy, US solider Saul (future Usual Suspects star Gabriel Byrne) meets Belle, alleged to be a Nazi collaborator. He offers to stay in her cottage as Résistance accusers circle. The tragic tale of moral ambiguity during wartime was adapted from an MK Joseph novel.

Shot in France in 1988, director Larry Parr’s feature debut was troubled by withdrawal of a French partner and bankruptcy of a US distributor; after festival showings it screened on NZ TV in 1995. Marianne Basler won a 1992 NZ Film Award as Belle.
