Description

John Kralik's inspiring true story starts when he is at his lowest point - his second marriage has failed and he has moved into an uncomfortable, depressing little apartment. He sees his young daughter only for prescribed visits and does not enjoy good relationships with his older sons. His career as a lawyer has become mired in bitter feuds and unpaid bills. He feels he has failed to reach any of the goals he set himself. On new year's day, he is struck by the idea that his life might be at least a bit tolerable if he could find a way to be grateful for what he had. He needs a structure for his new plan so he decides to write one thank-you letter every day for a year. The process of writing the notes forces John to reassess his life. One by one, day after day, on plain note cards and with unadorned sincerity, he thanks close loved ones for gifts or kindnesses, clients who pay on time, college friends and current foes, even store clerks and a handyman - each with a brief handwritten note. In time, he finds that not only has his perspective changed, being grateful has actually brought good things into his life. 365 Thank Yous is a timely reminder to all of us to be grateful for the things we have and offers a new way to find contentment in the new year.
