23" ASUS Ultra Fast Gaming Monitor reviews

I have not long had this monitor but it is so beautiful. Crystal clear picture with no glare and the skirting finish of it is immaculate. Thought the stand would be abit flimsy but it's not bad at all. Worth the buy!

Excellent. Pretty cheap for a great sized monitor with nothing that I'd want changed on it. 1ms response time, perfect for gaming (something that I do for hours daily.) I'd pay an extra $150 for this if I knew it would be this good.

Pros: brilliant image quality and a great response time. Minimal set-up required. Having 2 hdmi ports, a decent warranty for a LCD screen, good build construction, the anti-glare coating doesn't seem effect the screen clarity.

Middles: Okay sound which was clean however it's not directed at the front of the screen but down from the edge, had every type of power and connection cable but a dual ended hdmi one. Manuals a bit light on instructions, the power brick wall socket cable seems short but it has a standard connector so you can replace it with longer if you want.

Cons: no vesa mounting sockets if you need it, limited screen angle adjustment, no dvi socket but there is a dvi to hmdi cable supplied, the controls have a confusing layout and are fiddly to use.

I've had the screen for a month now, after picking up in one the Mighty Ape sales and I am happy to say that I would be very please with it at its normal price. None of the ‘middles’ or ‘cons’ are deal breakers as the screen's image stability, clarity and response time are all more than suitable for the tasks I have for it. For the gamers out there this is more than able to keep up with the games I've thrown at it. As I noted the control system is fiddly to deal with but once you get things to your liking you never have to change them. I'm planning to stick a cheap freeview decoder in the second hdmi connector because the quality of the image is far better than most of the same size lcd tvs out there.

The only reason I'm knocking a star off is for the missing double hdmi cable and fiddly control system from an otherwise quality product.

Incredible contrast at 80mil to 1, excellent response time (definitely noticeable going from 5ms to 1ms) and just a brilliant monitor all round. It looks small compared to other 23' monitors mainly because of the small frame and lack of plastic (not a downside). And the only other thing to note is that it has an external power supply, which some might find a pain.

I use this solely for PS4 gaming and the monitor works seamlessly with the PS4 OS. Very easy to set up as it automatically detects the HDMI signal so plug and play. Audio through to the headphones out jack is excellent and again is plug and play, therefore I have never used the inbuilt speakers. I find the picture presets fine and just default to Gaming. The other presets are either too light or too dark for gaming imo. The matt screen is perfect, as I found that the front light from my PS4 controller would reflect annoyingly on my glossy HDTV, so that is no longer an issue. Importantly the stand not only looks great but is also very sturdy. The perfect console monitor and only contender for FullHD gaming in a less than 32 inch size for less than $300.

I've had it for a couple of days and I love it! Great resolution, no ghosting, and no input lag! The speakers aren't the best but for a serious gamer, you'll most likely be using a headset. 10/10 A great monitor for a great price!

I bought this monitor for my recently home built pc, and I am more than impressed by the picture. Even through the VGA port, the picture is great, but this monitor really excels when used with a HDMI cable. I have been playing Battlefield 4 on max settings on this monitor for the past week, and the picture quality is stunning. The non glare coating works well, but possibly could make the image too dull for those who really value colour vibrancy. I couldn't really tell the difference, however, and the colour quality surpassed my expectations. Very suitable monitor for either a gaming desktop, or an extension for someone who uses a laptop.

Perfect for competitive shooters

Everything you need in a monitor. I use this for first person shooters and the response time is great. I also have it connected to a freeview receiver and it's quality is amazing.

This monitor is perfect for its price. I am using mine as an xbox 360 screen and it is perfect. Definitely would recommend this product.

After endless searching for monitors I chose this one as it had the top user score on testfreaks.com for monitors – the dual HDMI is easy to switch between console and PC – colours are fine – there wasn't a single stuck pixel and the little speakers are ok – though you wouldn't want to use them over a headset.

Basically this is a no nonsense, easy to set up, value for money monitor – I join the hundreds of other users who recommend it

Great monitor for the price, cant fault it one bit. Awesome as a console monitor because you can only go up to 60Hz on console anyway. It also has a great image quality. Definitely would recommend this monitor.

I have had this monitor for about 3 weeks now and it is just amazing. The stand looks flimsy in the photo but it is very stable. The screen clarity is fantastic and is great for gaming .

It's fast, crisp and looks good. Fast moving objects are dealt with ease. Colours are good too. The only trouble with a monitor like this one, is that it needs high quality content to be played back for the image to look good. It is very obvious when lower quality content is being viewed; every fat pixel can be seen.

I changed from an old 4:3 aspect ratio 720p monitor to this beast. If you're looking for the best monitor with very high specs and without paying too much, I definitely recommend this. 1ms response time helps a lot with the clarity of the picture, and the 80m:1 contrast ratio is superior as well. Recommended!

This is an overall great screen providing great response times accompanied by many inputs which is awesome for switching between Computers and Consoles giving excellent gaming uses. For the best experience I would recommend using the HDMI inputs. The Speakers on the back give clear sound but are quiet compared to other speakers, this due to the speakers facing the back of the monitor.

For its price it is a good monitor. Good response time, though compared with more recent monitors the refresh rate is not great – I do get some tearing in some older titles when running significantly higher than 60fps. Blacks are ok, not great, and monitor is pretty bright. Bezel is also a bit thicker than some newer monitors.

This monitor looks so amazing, I just brought a ps4 and I didint think the graphics were that much better then ps3 but after getting this monitor I can definetly see a huge difference.

This monitor is perfect for gaming. Good size, pretty much non-existent input lag, great colours, slim, sexy, light weight. I highly recommend this if you're a serious about your gaming needs :)

The screen is very sharp and bright, with an excellent contrast level. It automatically detects which input is being used and switches on very quickly. The speakers are adequate, but like any slim TV or monitor, the sound quality and volume is limited by the thinness of the unit. Has plenty of inputs etc. Great for gaming or watching DVDs etc.

Viewing angle is decent, and it doesn't seem to suffer too much from glare.

This monitor was a great buy, it's well worth the money and it's a perfect instalment into my gaming setup!

There is nothing bad about this monitor, crystal clear imaging, response time is amazing and it just looks so elegant, well worth it's money.

Everything I need from a monitor at a great price, features are top notch.

As of writing, I have had this monitor for a few months now and I must say I am very happy with it.

Colours and text are crisp and it has many modes for different scenarios. It is nice for casual Photoshop and light editing work. Its very enjoyable to game with as well, whether that be gaming on PS4 or PC. The panel is very bright as well. The speakers are average but acceptable. The viewing angles on this panel are pretty poor even for a TN technology. My older monitor was also TN panel as well, but it had better viewing angles than this. You have to look at this monitor dead-on to get a good experience. The buttons for the control panel are slightly misaligned with the button stickers on the front of the monitor which is slightly annoying when adjusting the settings.

Overall, this is still an excellent monitor, and with a cheap price-tag like that, you getting a ton of bang for your buck. It has a few small drawbacks but I would still recommend this to people despite them.

Recieved this monitor in just 4 days thanks to Mighty Ape's speedy delivery, and it's one of the best monitors I have used in a long time! The colours are sharp and bright thanks to the inbuilt gaming mode, and it looks sleek and stylish on my desk. Very happy with this purchase, 10/10.

New to all the gaming and tech stuff so a bit of a learning curve to understand how to control all the settings just personal preference but still great screen, also I would need to have a owned a few more monitors to be able to compare this monitor to others but I can say it is still much better than others

I've had this for 3 years and still love it it's the best monitor to start your gaming setup with. The speakers are not the best but it's pretty good for a monitor.

Purchased this display to hook it up with a MacBook AND a PS4 (slim). Both work perfectly with the screen, just plug and play. A simple button at the bottom of the screen lets you switch between the three inputs (VGA, HDMI1 and HDMI2). If you're on a mac, be sure to go System Preferences

Easy plug in and go, so fast so clear so worth the money.

Brilliant product, high quality display, nice slim sleek design & prompt delivery and service.

Going from a 19.5 to this is like chalk & cheese. Great to use & with gaming mode easy on eye balls.

The stand can be a little wonky but sturdy and the back lighting can be a bit weird but changing the setting can rectify the image to almost however you like it.

So I upgraded from a 720p TV to this for my Xbone and by god is it good. I didn't think much of the non-glare at the time when I bought it, but sitting in my room I can now game WITH MY CURTAINS OPEN! If I had one gripe, the buttons are a little confusing at first. There is a volume down and a brightness up button, and to do vol up you have to hit down first then brightness up, and vice versa. Anyway, fantastic product.

Great price for a pretty solid product. Had to tweak a few settings but now it looks great. Colours are very sharp and vibrant. Didnt give it 5 stars because there isn't much in the way of movement for the screen, it tilts up and down a little but not much. Overall great buy.

Exactly as stated, amazing non-glare screen, beautiful to look at and despite how it may appear, quite a solid stand. My one and only problem with the monitor is that the built in speakers don't go as loud as I'd like sometimes (such a tiny gripe that it barely registers). Definitely a worthwhile purchase.

Great for the Xbox 360/Xbox One

My only dislike about this monitor is the bezel.

Got this today and I'm amazed, a little surprised at how big it actually is on my desk. But the quality and response time is on point.

As I said in the summary … It's been everything I expected & more.

The stand kinda looks a little flimsy, but it holds well enough. The monitor itself does extremely well for both my gaming and my girlfriends photo editing. Overall, would definitely recommend

This monitor was perfect for my sunny office. Normally during the day the glare from the bright sun meant I was not able to see the screen and had to close all blinds. With this monitor the anti-glare ensures for a great experience.

• Kinda gutted it didn't come with a double HDMI cable, I know it came with a HDMI to DVI but I think a double HDMI would be useful as well

Luckily I have a couple HDMI cables lying around and they're cheap to buy but just a thought

This monitor works great it shows all the images so I can use it on my computer. It makes it look so good

I was used to playing ebox games on a larger screen tv but what a difference on the Asus 23" monitor makes. If they can produce say a 40" monitor they would sell truck loads.

Good inexpensive high quality easy to setup monitor

I have had this monitor for just a week and love it so far. Gaming is great on it. The default preset is set the brightness to 100, which I feel is far too high, but that is easy to change. The base I thought from the pictures looked flimsy, but that is not the case, it looks really nice and feels sturdy. The viewing angle is really good. I have not found an option to turn off the power light yet, but it is so small that it becomes un-noticeable while gaming.

I also got this delivered same day, that was amazing, really good service.
