If you are looking for a gaming notebook with the perfect balance of specs vs cost and the best design possible – this is it.
I should note that before purchasing I spent months researching every single gaming notebook within this range of specs and cost, and the ASUS G750 easily tops them all.
For a start, the design is honestly best-in-class. Unlike some of the competing products who use cheap plastic and flimsy hinges, the G750 has a solid, hardy streamlined design. Yet it remains incredibly classy – and this is complemented by the white light blacklit keyboard and the subtle backlit ROG logo on the back of the lid.
A key benefit of this notebook is the dual fans. This is absolutely critical for a gaming notebook with a high-end graphics card. If you've ever owned a gaming laptop before, you'll know the #1 drawback is the heat and noise they generate. With dual fans that vent out the rear, the G750 is the only laptop I've ever seen that can stay cool to the touch after hours of Guild Wars 2 on high settings.
On top of this, somehow the fans are also deadly silent after this time too – whereas my last gaming laptop sounded like a lawnmower after 20 minutes of questing for loot.
The specs of this laptop are the perfect balance of being very high-end (including NVIDIA's second-best mobile graphics card!) and being able to play at the latest games on high for years, and yet not being at the stage where you pay an extra thousand for a 5% increase in performance.
In terms of general performance, the G750 just flys. The operating system is installed on the Solid State Drive (SSD) out of the box (with plenty of extra room for game installations too), so booting to desktop takes about 3 seconds, and anything else you do e.g. Opening programs or folders is actually instant. And of course every game I've played easily runs with 30 FPS on the highest settings.
Overall, in terms of design, specs, cost and performance, you won't find a better gaming notebook out there than the ASUS ROG G750.
