Compliment your Case with Colour

By Andi

We'll all agree that performance is king when it comes to gaming, but having a great looking case doesn't hurt either…

It's all good having a fine tuned machine that pumps out gorgeous visuals without breaking a sweat, but if your rig is an extension of yourself, why not make it look the part? Some splashes of colour throughout your case can really help set it apart and add your personality to a computer to make it greater than the sum of its parts.

Here's a few tips on how to add a touch of colour to your rig with just a few dollars…

1) Coloured Cabling

Depending on your cable management choice, SATA Cables can be spotted as soon as you look into your case. BitFenix offer quality SATA Cables, sleeved in some great colours that'll really pop inside your chassis.

While you're at it, why not do your Power Cables too? Get a complete look by grabbing some coloured extension cabling for your Motherboard and Graphics Card. It looks great, and can make cable management easier if you need a little bit more length to wrangle into that sweet spot.

2) LED Lighting

Nothing says custom colour like a beautiful lighting design. Whether you want to run LED Stripping through your chassis, or kill two birds with one stone by cooling and lighting with LED Case Fans, the options for you are huge.

Pro Tip: Get yourself an RGB Lighting Kit so you're not locked down to any one colour. It's a breeze to install, and comes with a remote for easy changes to your scheme.

If you can hold out a bit longer, we're about to receive stock of the highly anticipated Aerocool range of Dead Silence Case Fans. Featuring a dual layer construction to absorb wind noise, these fans are the epitome of “Seen but not heard.”

3) Coloured Case Fans

So maybe lighting isn't your thing, and you're looking for something a bit more subtle. You can still get some style and colour into your rig with standard case fans.

A great number of fans are now coming in a range of colours to suit your scheme, including the Corsair Air Series with interchangeable colour rings.

Game stealthily at night, while still giving your case some style upon inspection.

4) Coloured Heat Spreaders

This might not be compatible for everyone, but it does offer a great look for some otherwise aesthetically displeasing RAM.

Covering up an unsightly green PCB, these coloured heat spreaders can liven up your motherboard in a sleek Black, a flashy Gold, a hot Pink or anything in between.

Did we mention they're incredibly cheap too?
