Arkham Ape Gorilla Gaming PC Winner Announced!

Computers

It certainly proved to be a mighty challenge indeed!

In the end just 240 people had completed the montage 100%, a feat in itself for sure! But there can be only one winner…

Our winner spotted that it was Galen the Ultimate Sith who was dressed as a Tuskan Raider, saw the subtle differences between Rayman Origins and Legends, they knew the bank was from Payday 2 not Battlefield Hardline and saw that it was a Zombie Nazi, not just a regular Nazi getting shot in the face.

We'll all agree that performance is king when it comes to gaming, but having a great looking case doesn't hurt either…

It's all good having a fine tuned machine that pumps out gorgeous visuals without breaking a sweat, but if your rig is an extension of yourself, why not make it look the part? Some splashes of colour throughout your case can really help set it apart and add your personality to a computer to make it greater than the sum of its parts.

Here's a few tips on how to add a touch of colour to your rig with just a few dollars…

Water vs Air: Which Element will you throw at your CPU?

Computers

Add a comment By Andi

When you think about it, a lot of computing comes down to the bending of elements – constantly contending with heat and dust in order to get the best performance.

But which element do you choose to fight on the front line? Water or Air?

Both are excellent choices, depending on your needs so we figured we'd have a look at some of the various components available to help you in your battle.

Treat Your Rig Part Three: Lighting!

We've evicted a few bugs and dusted the entirety of the case and its components, installed some new fans and tidied up the cables.

So why stop there?

We've already put 2 of the Cooler Master MegaFlow 200mm Silent Fans in the front a top of the case for the initial blue glow, but we're never ones to show restraint when it comes to lighting (or anything, really) so we figured we'd take things one or two steps further…

Laying the Strip

We're a huge fan of the DeepCool RGB LED Strip Lighting, so we threw that in for good measure. There's a number of great things about this stripping, the biggest being that it comes with 2 strips of LEDs, so you get great coverage in your case at an awesome price.

We chose to put our strips in two key locations that give great illumination of components, while still hiding the actual LEDs from sight.

The first is at the bottom of the case, running flush with where the windowed side panel attaches. The second is installed on the side of the case at the top, running along the same edge that the windowed panel attaches to.

Dawn of the Mini PC

Computers

2 comments By Andy

It has become a phenomenon… Mini PC's with the raw power of Rigs double the size, have been springing up all over the place and custom builders have adopted them with arms wide open.

Corsair have the 250D… BitFenix have the Prodigy… Silverstone have the RVZ01

DEEPCOOL is now joining the fray with a bold addition to the field.

Introducing the STEAM CASTLE.

Bright, loud and round, the Steam Castle is capable of housing a MATX Motherboard and is capable of housing 2 x full length graphics cards to run in SLI or CrossFire!

Cooling wise there is space for a 240mm radiator for all those water cooling buffs out there and since the motherboard tray is horizontal there is space for the largest CPU air coolers. On the front there is a 200mm fan and a 120mm on the rear.

There are also 4 very unique extractor fans planted on the top of the case. The built in fan controller allows users to change the colors between red, blue and green. There is also a breathing effect and the LED's can also be turned off whilst the fans remain active.
