Computer Chassis Showcase Part Two: Mini Towers

By Andi

Last week we looked at a range of the most common computer case – the Mid Tower. Now we're back with a whole range of cases that pack a whole lot into a little space. We're talking of course, about the Mini Tower.

Mini towers are great for their compact nature and portability. You'll lose out on some internal space for additional drives, and you won't be mounting dual graphics cards in a mini tower, however you've still got a number of applications for a PC built in one.

Listed below are 4 of the coolest Mini Towers we have, so be sure to check them out!

SilverStone DS380B Mini-ITX Case

From the premium brushed aluminium door to the LED indicators with adjustable brightness, it's clear from the start that this is a case that won't draw too much attention to itself, but looks brilliant when it does.

You'll be hard pressed to run out of storage, with support for up to 12 drives – 8 of which can be changed out in a flash with the case's hot-swappable feature. Perfect for a media centre that you want to run offline – store all your media locally and even include a disc drive for your physical formats.

Cooler Master Elite 120 Advanced

Simplicity epitomized. Everything you need in a mini tower – compact and portable, while ensuring maximum airflow so you can still push your hardware to its fullest. Oh, and its brushed aluminium finish makes it look pretty darn good too.

Including support for an optical drive as well as 5 HDDs or SSDs and USB3.0 interface in the front – there's not really much the Cooler Master Elite 120 can't do when matched up against a case 3 times its size. Guess you can't always count the little guy out…

Bitfenix Prodigy Mini-ITX Case

If you're after something that'll stand out and grab attention, simply have a look at the Bitfenix Prodigy. In a stunning variety of colours, this case sacrifices a disc drive for sleek curves from back to front. Make it the main feature of your entertainment system, or just wow your friends when you set it up at a LAN.

Whether you choose Fire Red (pictured), Atomic Orange, Viper Green or even a standard Black or White, your colour choices aren't limited there. Grab yourself a windowed side panel and you can throw in even more flare with some LED lighting.

Corsair Graphite 380T Mini ITX Case

Lastly, we've got something from the future. Set to release shortly, Corsair's Graphite 380T is the little brother to their 600T, but it still packs a tonne of features for such a compact case.

Not only do you have beautiful LED lighting to really bring your case to life, but a three-speed fan controller, USB 3.0 interface and easily swappable drives means you're always in control.

While it's entirely usable as a media PC, this case screams to be a compact gaming unit. With space for a full size graphics card, brilliant airflow design to keep components cool, as well as a carry handle for portability, Corsair have clearly designed this with the gamer-on-the-go in mind.

That about wraps up part two of our Computer Chassis Showcase. Whether you're working with limited desk space, are building your rig with the entertainment system in mind or just want something lightweight to take with you, there's a great case here for everyone.

And of course, if you're looking to pack any of these cases with some amazing tech, be sure to swing by our Mighty Components Jungle!
