Description

The famous swimming Ladies of Hampstead ponds bring us their favourite walks with a dip in London and south east England, all accessible by train. Featuring secret lakes, river meadows and sandy seaside beaches, this is the perfect way to escape the city and leave the car at home this summer.

Author Biography:

Margaret Dickinson (Ed.) is a year-round wild swimmer, documentary fi lm-maker and writer who campaigned to save swimming on the Heath. The Kenwood Ladies Pond Association is a voluntary organisation of women. It aims to promote the interests of the users of the pond, represent their views to the authority responsible for Hampstead Heath, and to cooperate with staff in the proper running and maintenance of the pond so that it may continue to be a quiet, peaceful place for women and girls to bathe, swim and relax.
