I was born in a small town in North Carolina. My childhood was filled with lots of misfortune. I had watched my mother shot in the head after a drug deal went wrong. One of the stepfathers I had was a veteran, an alcoholic, and an abusive man to me and my mother. Most of the events in the early chapters of this book are in fact based on my life. I served in the United States Marine Corps for four years, and although I do not see ghosts in the traditional sense, I was haunted for years by the memories of those deployments I served in. I do not have much of an education, I did attend college, but dropped out several times for drug and alcohol abuse. If it had not been for the close friends and family that held tight to me after those nightmares of war; I might of ended up another suicide statistic. I want to urge all those members of military service worldwide to hold tight to the very reasons you chose to serve. I know it is hard, but if you take your life now, you will never get the chance to see where your road could have taken you later in life. The thing I most love about writing is the sheer imagination and freedom of the typed story. I hope that all who read this novel enjoy it and thank you for the support.
