Description

"The Invitation" forges a new path between Christianity and science, and invites the world's scientists and those who closely follow the work of scientists to walk along it. "The Invitation" seeks to open the door to the Gift of Christian Faith to the greatest minds on planet Earth.

Author Biography:

David Meyer studied Geology at the University of Nebraska, where he received a Commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the USAF upon graduation. After his twenty-one year career as a USAF pilot, he now runs the Luz Observatory in Apple Valley, California as well as the Planetarium at Victor Valley College, where he is an Associate Professor of Astronomy. He and his wife, world-renowned Astronomer Linda Morabito Meyer, conduct research in astrophysics. They are both dedicated to breaking down the barriers between Christians and scientists, so that each may better understand the other's beliefs, and to open the door to Christianity for the world's scientists. They make their home in Victorville, California. Linda Morabito Meyer is the Astronomer who discovered the active volcanism on Jupiter's moon Io on March 9, 1979 at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, while working as a senior engineer on NASA's Voyager mission to Jupiter. She is currently an Associate Professor of Astronomy at Victor Valley College in Victorville, California. Her present field of research is in astrophysics. Linda has written about her Christian faith in her memoir "Parallel Universes", and believes that young scientists have a strong desire to keep both their love of science and love of Christian faith in their lives. With God's help, she believes that she and her husband David Meyer have envisioned a path of reasoning for the greatest minds on Earth to reconsider rejecting Christian faith.
