Here they settled and laid the foundations of Roman power. The Aeneid is a poet's picture of the world, where human affairs are controlled byhuman and superhuman influences. Author Biography
Virgil (70-19BC) studied rhetoric and philosophy in Rome where he became a court poet. As well as The Aeneid, his Eclogues earned him the reputation as the finest Latin poet.
