Description

"It has been said that the universe is not only strange, it is stranger than we can think. But not to Gordon R Clarke! In his second collection of stories, reflections, speculations and comedy, he explores the mysterious and the enigmatic in a manner which sheds profound light onto human psychology. By turn disturbing, witty and incisive, he challenges us to examine and question what we think we know." -- R.N.F. Skinner, author of the novel Still Crazy..., the short story collection After All... and the triplet of novellas These Years: 1973, 1986 and 1991

Author Biography:

Gordon R Clarke is an international authority on digital banking and financial policy. However, he also enjoys writing stories and poems, playing the guitar and performing in comedy revues. He has an MA in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University and a PhD in Applied Physics from City University in London. Born and brought up in south-east London, Gordon has worked in five continents for major consulting firms and his own Singapore-based company, and lived in eight countries, which creates the backdrop for his writing. He now spends his free time mainly in Thailand and Greece. During his career, he has published three technical books, many articles on behavioural economics, payment technology, cryptocurrencies and artificial intelligence and philosophical papers on science and religion. When a research student, he won a London Colleges short story competition, judged by the late Philip Larkin. Having published his first book of short stories Someone Else's Gods in 2022, Gordon is pleased to present The Abyss of Possibility - his new collection - and plans to publish more fiction, while making the most of his wide range of interests from financial markets and science to music and creative writing.
