"Quirky, offbeat and darkly hilarious" Purchased on Mighty Ape

This film just takes one absurd turn to the next. An unlikely couple pack up their bags and leave town to see some of the sights around their little town in a cramped, awkward, outdated caravan. When there is an accidental murder, things just go from wierd to wierder as things can only end in one way.

Much worth the watch, with only one question left on the lips after it ends. What- The film flows so naturally and freely that you are truly concerned for the mental state of the person that created it. And then hope they can create some more.

One last thing. A film like this… only the British.

Description

Sightseers

Chris (Steve Oram) wants to show Tina (Alice Lowe) his world and he wants to do it his way – on a journey through this sceptred isle in his beloved Abbey Oxford Caravan. Tina's led a sheltered life and there are things that Chris needs her to see – the Crich Tramway Museum, the Ribblehead Viaduct, the Keswick Pencil Museum and the rolling countryside that separates these wonders in his life. But it doesn't take long for the dream to fade.

Litterbugs, noisy teenagers and pre-booked caravan sites, not to mention Tina's meddling mother, soon conspire to shatter Chris's dreams and send him, and anyone who rubs him up the wrong way, over a very jagged edge.

Critic Reviews:

  • " A must for cult connoisseurs who take their comedy strong and dark. " – Larushka Ivan-Zadeh
  • " This dark comedy would be a devastatingly terrifying movie if it were not for the frequent moments of hilarity. As it stands, Sightseers is a pretty special and wholly effective mix of the two. " – Tom Cassidy
  • " Initially sweet and good natured, only to become disturbing yet laugh-out-loud funny, Sightseers is a dark treat. " – Katie Smith-Wong
