Sure you can watch the many youtube channels or browse the web for the best info – or you could just buy a book that gets straight to the point and has the advantage of being from a reputable source. I bought a Hardcover version to last and it's great. The book's authors go into their philosophy behind self-sufficiency and also get straight to the point of why I bought this book. It shows you helpful diagrams and step-by-step guides on the basics of energy-saving, growing your own food, how to make use of the space you have and on what projects to focus on. It also doesn't pretend to tell you how to do things that require a little more experience and skill like wood-working or more advanced engineering, yet still contains helpful guides on what they did to build useful items and set up things like a bio-diesel reactor and a windmill. But I'd imagine if you did have the kind of skill it would take to make these kind of things – the book gives you a helpful pointer on where to go. I love this book a lot!
