Monsters is one of my favourite movies and is an amazing tale of two people from very different backgrounds who find themselves in an unlikely situation. There are most definitely monsters and their presence provides the structure for the entire movie but they are not front and center. When they do make an appearance though they are spectacular, majestic and superbly designed.

A brilliant journey with great acting, writing and creativity. Watch the extras to really appreciate just how good this movie is and just how well Gareth Edwards did with almost no time or money. Incredible.

Here we have the first film from Gareth Edwards..who is Gareth Edwards..simply put,the success of this small inderpendent film both at the box office and with film critic's around the world put Gareth Edwards on the world stage hence he was in the directors chair for 'Godzilla" and now the much anticipated 'Star Wars Rouge One". Monsters is not just a movie about the formentioned its also a love story and to top it all off the performances are nothing short of brilliant,not to mention that the two leads in this movie are actually married in real life.Edwards supervised and created most of the visual effects you see during the movie which as well as directing was a huge task in itself. Monsters is a wonderful piece of film making that really stands out,shot on a shoestring budget with no more than a handful of film crew you will understand why Hollywood sat up and noticed Gareth Edwards…Hghly recommended.
