Magical.

"A great debut album from a very talented musician." Purchased on Mighty Ape

If you can get away from your previous experience of Hugh Laurie as an actor, you will enjoy this album for its great songs and fine musicianship. Hugh Laurie's piano playing is a revelation and he obviously enjoyed every moment.

Description

Hugh Laurie releases his debut album ‘LET THEM TALK’ on Warner Bros. Records. A glorious celebration of New Orleans blues, the album unites Laurie’s musical talent with a very personal selection of standards and lost blues classics performed with his band of renowned musicians and some very special guest stars.

Since 2004, Hugh has played Dr. Gregory House in the hugely successful ‘House MD’ drama series, and become the most watched TV actor in the world, the series reaching 81 million global viewers weekly.   Now Hugh’s passion for the blues has inspired him to begin his professional music career. ‘Let Them Talk’ is part 1 in his music journey. Hugh has brought together an A-list band of musicians to perform an album of greatest New Orleans blues tracks of the last 100 years.

The heritage songs on the album were originally recorded by Jelly Roll Morton, Fats Waller, Robert Johnson, Ray Charles and Louis Armstrong, and the album features guest vocalists Dr. John, Irma Thomas and Sir Tom Jones. Produced by blues legend and Grammy award winner Joe Henry, the album was recorded in Los Angeles and New Orleans.
