"Rockstars Greatest Game!"

Rockstar have created a semi-new genre here, they have re-invented the “Crime” style games and moved a BIG step away from the Grand Theft Auto series. This new refreshing game is hands down definitely in the running for some awards. I recommend this game to everyone! Its one of a kind!

"Staggering, Ground-breaking game. Non-gamers will love it too!"

As a guy trying to introduce my girl to gaming, this is a great game. We spend hours playing the game together, with me controlling it and both of us going through the interviews and crime scenes. She describes it as a “mini-series that we are creating.” As the game has three discs, you can expect 20–30 hours of game-time out of this, comfortably.

From the first time you load up the game you will be blown away by the graphics and the motion capture. It is really as good as you hear. If you don't have a HDMI cable for your X-Box – get one. You are nearly wasting your time without it.

Game-wise, there are small issues with the game. Driving can be a pain due to the confusing button layout. Shooting is frustrating but not too bad. You can re-do any failed action sequence, but can only do the interviews once.

Minor gripes with a game that sets the bar very high.

Team Bondi have really made a game that will set a tone for future gaming. This game is going to influence a lot of games to come in the crime fighter genre. A lot more technical than other Rockstar games (i.e. Red Dead Redemption, GTA) though La Noire still has the brilliant story line that other Rockstar games have the game play is somewhat different.

"Really fun and enjoyable."

A great twist to the usual game you may find on the market but definitely engages the player. Has really well thought out mysteries for you to figure out and solve!

Great who done it! entertaining, kept me playing for hours. I love that the story changes dependent on the choices you make. A must for all super sleuths out there.

"Not the best R* game but very interesting gameplay."
4 stars"

Unfortunately the whole time you're solving mysteries you have a dying urge to just whip out your pistol and shoot everyone.

THAT ASIDE. The gameplay is very good, the achievements will definitely keep me playing it even now that i've finished playing it.

The interrogations are not as easy as you would think, clue collecting needs to be done thoroughly, the 3rd disc(yup we're back to more than one game disc like its the 90's) tends to bring the story together but alienates the character you've been learning to respect i thought which only further ruined the ending of the game for me.

I didn't see too much of a hint of a continued of sequel but i would definitely like to play one.

"Believe the Hype"

This is probably the best Rockstar game to date. The stunningly visual world of 1940's L.A. brought to life in vivid detail mixed with an engaging and dramatic detective story. The facial capture technology is revolutionary, once you see it you'll never look back! I guarantee you'll get hooked into this world, hunting for clues, questioning suspects and solving cases. Awesome!

"Good if you like to think about what you need to do."

Really good at first but does require breaks away from it. Like it as you need to think about what you are doing as opposed to just shooting things

I know people are going crazy over this game but I found it to be a bit of a let down, Don't get me wrong the graphics are amazing but game play wise I felt limited and a bit bored . Not a game I could sit down and play all night,

Quite short and once you've played it, I didn't really want to play it again but definitely worth playing.

"This game is the BUSINESS!"
5 stars"

Ok, as soon as I got this game I played through the first 2 discs of the complete edition in 24hrs. It is so hard to pull yourself away. I had to put my xbox in the living room to set some boundaries! I am currently on the 3rd disc and I am staggering my gameplay because I don't want it to end. I think this really appeals to girl gamers because there is a really strong story line you follow through the whole game. And who doesn't love the shoot outs where you get to shoot the crap out of bad guys-

Longest video game I've ever played took me a good 20 or so hours without doing side missions or anything, so definitely good if you are looking for time killer. First game I've played that actually makes you think a little bit about what your actually doing in the game.

"Addiction!!!"

This game gets really addictive. I can say with confidence that there is no other game like this out there and that is reason enough to play it or try it atleast, but if thats not enough it's also a very polished and fun game to play. The cases really draw you in and even to the end of the game you will be trying to fiqure out who's telling the truth and who's lying. Overall a great game and top production values.

"Awesome!"

An awesome game, with awesome technology (facial motion capture), an awesome storyline, and an awesome new and what feels to be fresh concept in a video game.

Thoroughly enjoyed the game – looking forward to some possible DLC or something along those lines to give the game slightly more replayability. It does have a free roam feel to it and there is a mode where you can simply free roam completely (like the GTA series, also published by Rockstar Games), therefore there is somewhat of a replayable factor to the game – I just think there could be a little more.

As mentioned though, the story is great! Must buy for any console owner.

"A Step Forward for Gaming"

L.A. Noire boasts some incredible features. Obviously, in many ways it feels like another Rockstar game – a big open city; main missions and side missions to distract you; and interesting, believable characters. The characters are the real stars of this game and the new facial performances that Team Bondi managed to produce are incredible. Recognisable faces from film and television pop up around and about and you can comfortably watch the way they perform as if it were real.

That being said, L.A. Noire is far from perfect. The mission structures are all similar, if not carbon copies of one another. This makes sense in some ways, but after 20 hours or so it can, surprisingly, become a bit tedious. The side missions are irritating at best, breaking the flow of the case. If you're a homicide cop, following leads that could crack your case, the flow is really broken by the fact that you have to drive half way across Los Angeles to stop a small time criminal. And the Los Angeles of the game is a huge step backward from GTAIV's Liberty City. The place is still a grave where no one seems to be doing anything whatsoever with their own lives, but on top of that, there's hardly anything you can do in the city except just solve the cases you're given. No time to experience L.A.

Overall, well worth playing, and, in some respects, a fascinating step forward for games in general. But at times, it can feel like a real missed opportunity to create something truly astonishing.

"There are 1000 reviews of LA Noire, this is one of them"
5 stars"

LA Noire raises the BAR on Rockstar's puerile Grand Theft Auto and ‘fist full of boring’ Red Dead Redemption, and then blows them away. This is a cop story, think LA Confidential as a game, which focuses on solving crimes – finding clues and interviewing witnesses. There are driving game and shooting game (third person shooter) aspects, and both are fun. Cleverly, there is the option to skip these aspects (you can have your partner drive you around – which fast forwards to the next scene/location) and you have the option to skip action scenes after failing them three times. Alternatively, if you want more action, you can respond to the street crimes, and get all the action you could need. The story was my favourite part of the game. Several threads, multiple cases, big and small chapters. Well done Rockstar. The game engine, itself, is simple and fairly intuitive (although I initially found driving oddly difficult). My only real criticisms are that on replay I couldn't skip through cut scenes I had seen before (but I suspect this is intentional – to prevent cheater behaviour). Also, very occasionally, a car would pass through another car or simply disappear (only seen that twice in about 48 hours of play so its a very occasional glitch). I take my hat off to LA Noire.
