Description

If you feel a deep spiritual connection with the mystical lands of Ireland, or you simply sense the enchantment of the words of Ireland's famed Nobel Prize-winning Poet, William Butler Yeats, you'll enjoy this fourth volume in the Moods of Ireland series, In the Footsteps of W. B. Yeats at Coole Park and Ballylee (Mystical Moods of Ireland, Vol. IV), capturing the moods of two of the literary icon's favourite places -- and sources of inspiration -- in County Galway, Ireland. For more than 30 summers, Yeats sought refuge at Coole Park and in his 15th Century Norman castle, Thoor Ballylee, from the social, cultural and political upheaval of late 19th and early 20th Century Ireland. The perfect accompaniment to any collection of Yeats' works, these stunning images by bestselling Author/Photographer James A. Truett, will take you along on your own visual journey "In the Seven Woods," immortalized in his 1903 collection of the same name, and to his iconic Tower with its Winding Stair, both featured in his later writings. You'll certainly see why he once described the area around Coole Park and Ballylee to a friend with these words: "Everything is so beautiful that to go elsewhere is to leave beauty behind." Let this book and these images be your refuge as well, as you experience and feel the natural and other-worldly beauty that inspired one of the greatest literary minds of our time. Here's what fans are saying about James A. Truett's work... "W.B. Yeats showed his love for Ireland through his poetry, and James Truett shows his love for Ireland and Yeats through these pictures. A dream come true for any Yeats fan -- like me!" Allison Elliott "So many of your photographs are in W. B. Yeats' words... 'inwrought with gold.' And in that, beautiful." Vivienne Nichols "Reading Yeats and embracing Truett's images: a thrilling journey." Dr. Michael J. Shadow, PhD. Order your copy of In the Footsteps of W. B. Yeats at Coole Park and Ballylee (Mystical Moods of Ireland, Vol. IV) today and let your imagination carry you into the mystical world that inspired Yeats!

Author Biography:

James A. Truett, author of the bestselling seven-volume Mystical Moods of Ireland series of photo essays, is a former Associated Press journalist whose work has appeared in most major newspapers and many websites around the world. He has survived a shooting (his camera took the bullet!), a raging forest wildfire and Los Angeles traffic during his journeys as a sailor, private pilot and adventurer, travelling extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, Ireland and Scotland. A second-generation Irish immigrant born in Alaska, he retraced the path of his grandmother and settled near the family farm in County Clare more than a decade ago, immersing himself in the inspiring and soul-stirring natural beauty of Ireland. When not exploring the Irish countryside, he enjoys cooking and introducing his Irish family to international cuisine during family lunches. All have survived so far. He battles his addiction to news by sharing his inspirational images and Irish blessings on his popular Facebook page at Facebook.com/jamesatruett and Instagram account at Instagram.com/jamesatruett.
