Recently I got my hands on a promo copy of the Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings' album Naturally. Never have I been witness to such a Masterpiece of Soul. Every sound, varying from explosive to tender, infected me: turning me into an old person and a child at the same time. Each time I listen to the track “How Long Do I Have To Wait For You?” in particular, Sharon pulls me closer and closer, delivering my soul to all the heartbreaks past and those still yet to come.
With a break at the top and an instrumental slip, this 7" will soon be a staple of every Funk and Soul DJ around the globe, not to mention the final track to fill out that perfect subway ride mixtape.
