Description

Hannah Allister of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania has always been the tomboy of her family. Growing up with four older brothers, she has never had a chance to become a perfect lady. However, her mother thinks different, and as she grows into the maturity of a young adult, she too questions her position as a true woman. When President Lincoln calls for volunteers to fight, Hannah's brothers leave the family farm to defend the unity of the states. Hannah finds herself left at home. Here she tries to seek God's will in her own life. As the war progresses, her father decides to send her to Ohio to live with her aunt. While in Ohio, will Hannah find the will of God for her life? What will become of her brothers and parents? Only time will tell and with war anything is possible. Hannah learns to hold on to hope that God will bring them through. Isaac Sweeny hates his life on his father's plantation in Tennessee. He finally escapes north, to Ohio. Taking a job on a farm seems like a great idea, until he meets the niece of the farmer, and feels the love of God on his life. With war looming closer to home, Isaac decides to join the Union Army and fight. He must again leave the place he has dubbed home and the woman he has found to spend the rest of his life. Will Isaac hold on to the new found hope in his Savior to see him through the war? Will he return to Ohio for the woman he loves?
