This album feels like it operates as an extension of Made in the Manor, MITM is him in his situation in East London, Hoodies all Summer feels like it is him looking in. He is now on the outside of that situation of poverty, violence, racism and police overstep. He is outside that situation but not above that situation, this is a UK legend saying “I get it, I understand your situation, but I want more for you.” This is a reflection on his life and his roots, his influences from his Jamaican heritage, about being true to yourself and your loved ones. It's a celebration of life as much as it is a deeply emotional reflection of the hardships of life as a poor black youth in London. Masterpiece from a living legend.
