I Played this on the Nintendo 64, so when I saw this on the Wii, I knew it was a good choice for my Dad's birthday.
He loves it, the fact that he can't beat the last bit on the medium difficulty, but he can go back and do the whole thing on another setting, without loosing his end game save.
Keeps going back to try finish it, but it still keeps him ammused.
Very good game with more than I expected

GoldenEye 007 redefines the multiplayer experience on Wii with unprecedented split-screen action featuring classic Bond characters and special game modes, as well as online play for up eight friends.
Reviews
“…believe it when I say that this game is one of the best Wii games of the year. Things might have changed in the last 15 years, but at the very least Activision and Eurocom have done wonders to capture the essence that the original Nintendo 64 game grabbed a decade and a half ago. I don’t think the WIi game will change the FPS genre in the same way the Rare design did, but as a standalone, original experience, it’s hard to deny this game’s greatness.” 9/10 – IGN
“If you've never played GoldenEye then now is your chance to experience a piece of retooled history, and if you are a grumbling diehard fan of the original then suck it up and get with the times. Change is good and GoldenEye 007 has never been better.” Game Chronicles
“Instead of standing in the original GoldenEye's shadow, Eurocom has created a brand new game that is just as compelling and addictive as the original.” Gaming Nexus
“With a new story, a plethora of multiplayer modes (both online and off), and tons of unlockables, there is considerable value to Goldeneye on the Wii.” 9/10 Cheat Code Central
