Description

The year is 1920 and a newcomer has arrived in the town of Bendigo. His name is Nicholas Armitage, and he has been sent from Sydney by the wily Private Investigator, Joe Hudson, to find a young woman and her child, who have been missing for three years. While delving into the murky past of a particular character associated with her, Nick meets Beau DuBois and his wife, Jess. Both have had dealings with his 'person of interest.' Beau takes an instant dislike to the clean-cut, inquisitive Nick, (much to his dismay), and it isn't long before Beau reveals the reason for this. It has connections to his past and that of his sister, Charlotte. Nick is shocked to find out a truth that his parents have kept hidden from him for his entire life, and his whole world comes crashing down around him. How does he deal with the situation and who will become his close allies?

Author Biography:

Growing up in central Victoria, Valmai spent much of her time writing stories, purely for her own amusement. This was curtailed when music became her priority, and piano practice took up a large part of her time.It wasn't until many years later, when her own children were off her hands, that she took up the pen again. She found this to be both therapeutic and rewarding. After writing a song about her grandfather and his experiences during WW1, she decided to turn the lyrics into a story, and so began a journey that she could never have imagined.
