An authority on nineteenth-century Colt revolvers and Winchester shotguns, DENNIS ADLER has written and photographed several popular coffee table books on the topics, including Colt Single Action - From Patersons to Peacemakers, Winchester Shotguns, Guns of the American West and his latest work, Guns of the Civil War, published by Chartwell Books and Quarto Publishing Group. An avid collector of American West and Civil War firearms, he is also involved in the design and manufacturing of custom cowboy guns for collectors and shooters, and has worked with such distinguished American firms as Sturm, Ruger & Co. and serves on the Antique Arms Committee of America Remembers and the United States Society of Arms and Armour.
