Well-written episodes, terrific character acting which convey the terror, tension and emotion of war on the home front. Those who dealt with unexploded bombs were just some of the many unsung heroes who did essential and dangerous work away from the usual front line of war. UXB accurately shows the social divide of the times yet also shows how people pull together in times of adversity, and even risk romance in the face of deadly uncertainty. A classic.
