Nick McKenzie gives his account into his and Chris Masters' investigation into war crimes committed by Australia's SAS in Afghanistan and the subsequent defamation trial. Even though the result of the trial is known, I found the book held my attention from cover to cover. McKenzie and Masters had truth on their side, but there was alot of doubt as to whether they would win. In the end, it was the bravery and moral courage of SAS veterans and of Afghans who had witnessed the crimes, combined with the hard work of their legal team, that enabled McKenzie and Masters to prevail. The book is easy to read and has an important message about honesty, courage and truth. I would encourage every Australian to read it.
