1940, London, the Blitz. With the county's morale at stake, Catrin (Gemma
Arterton), an untried screenwriter, works under fire with a makeshift cast and
crew to make a film to lift the nation's flagging spirits, and inspire America
to join the war. Catrin and a fellow writer, Buckley (Sam Claflin), reluctantly
join forces with a fading matinee idol Ambrose Hilliard (Bill Nighy) on a movie
to warm the hearts of the nation and capture the imagination of the American
public.
The Limehouse Golem
Victorian London is gripped with fear as a serial killer – dubbed The
Limehouse Golem – is on the loose and leaving cryptic messages written in his
victims' blood. With few leads and increasing public pressure, Scotland Yard
assigns the case to Inspector Kildare (Bill Nighy) – a seasoned detective
with a troubled past and a sneaking suspicion he's being set up to fail. Faced
with a list of suspects, including music hall star Dan Leno (Douglas Booth),
Kildare must discover which one is the killer before the Golem
strikes again.

Overwhelmed at work and lovely at home, his life takes a heartbreaking turn when
a medical diagnosis tells him time is short. Influenced by a local decadent (Tom
Burke) and the vibrant Maragret (Aimee Lou Wood), Williams continues to search
for meaning until a simple revelation gives him the purpose to create a legacy
for the next generation.
