I've had this for a few years now and found it very frustrating. It's constantly disconnecting from my laptop. I've spent countless hours trying to get it to reconnect.
Easy to set up, basically a USB hub on steroids. If it doesn't work straight away for monitors , you might need a windows update to get displayport stuff. The USB-C cable it comes with to connect to the host PC isn't super special aside from having an adaptor to fit a regular USB port, and can be swapped for a longer one if needed.
