Almost Famous
Almost Famous is the semi-autobiographical odyssey of 15-year-old William Miller (Patrick Fugit), whose writing talent and earnest passion for rock music earns him an assignment for Rolling Stone, interviewing and touring with Stillwater (Billy Crudup, Jason Lee). Penny Lane (Kate Hudson) is the young groupie who guides him through the wild world of rock heroes, all-night parties, and the most dangerous intensity of all, love.
Critic Reviews:
- " Almost Famous is a time capsule, a vessel into the past that beams with life. A coming of age jewel with fantastic performances and a nurturing musical embrace. It’ll never stop singing. " – Kristy Strouse (Cinematic Lovelies)
- " A simple dialogue between William and Penny Lane easily sums up the film. He asks her “Don’t you have any regular friends?” She responds “Famous people are just more interesting.” " – Wesley Lovell (Cinema Sight)
- " It was engaging, well-written, and almost existential with its love and appreciation for the ending era of post-Woodstock rock n' roll before the days of disco took over." – Don Shanahan (Every Movie Has a Lesson)
