Description

When London squatter Sophix cycles down the Thames looking for a place to house her grow she discovers what appears to be an abandoned steamship. But old punk Nommo is expecting her and invites her to play his holographic video game inside a 1930's diving bell on a new, more psychedelic form of K. Strange things begin to occur and Sophix finds herself at an ancient fork in the road Western history had forgotten it had ever taken. Alchemachine excavates the forbidden doctrine of the augoeides and reveals a latent faculty once known as phantastikon that has resurfaced at key intervals throughout time. From the Atomists in ancient Greece and the mediaeval Alchemists, to Einstein, Bohr and the emergence of the quantum paradigm. Banging up K, Sophix accidentally taps into perpetual energy from the zero point energy matrix. Her journey hacks through the briar of history and conspiracy to clear a long forgotten neural pathway and reconnect to a future phase of human evolution.

Author Biography:

Sarah Dean (M.A.) studied Comparative Religion at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London during the 90's. Her fascination with exploring altered states as described in various ancient cultures coincided with her own immersion in London's underground punk & techno squat party scene and produced the headlong stagger through forbidden histories that is Alchemachine. The hedonism, dark humour and graphic novel style imagery it conjurs masks a deeper research and original contribution to the interdisciplinary fields of physics, the history of religions and phenomenology.
