The Handley Page 0/400 was one of the first heavy bombers used by Great Britain during the First World War. Suceeding its predecessor; the Handley Page 0/100, the 0/400 proved to be an effective and ultimately famous aircraft. Entering service in April 1918, the 0/400 was able to carry a single 1,650lb bomb often operated in formations of up to 40 aircrafts, firstly during the day, then later increasingly at night.
