Description

This the third book of astrological essays from New York based medical and forensic astrologer, MichelAngelo, whose two previous books, Random Ramblings of an Astrological Autodidact, and Miscellaneous Maunderings about the Starry Sky, have both been rated 5-stars on Amazon. Random Ramblings was also reviewed very favorably by astrologer Mary Plumb in The Mountain Astrologer in Mar/April 2019. This latest effort is comprised of some 17 essays (18 with the introduction, "A Fascination with Fate"), although one of them is not astrological, per se, but rather focuses on a dream divination with Voyager Tarot. The author was a Certified Voyager Tarot Consultant for a number of years, worked somewhat closely with its creator, James Wanless, Ph. D., and always incorporates some aspect of Tarot divination into his astrological consultations. There are, reflective of his customary enthusiasms, a number of essays on various creatives, ranging from Joni Mitchell to Luciano Pavarotti to Peter Sellers to the twin exponents of the jazz-rock group, Steely Dan, Daniel Fagen and Walter Becker. Medical astrology is, nominally, his principal focus as an astrological consultant, and there are investigations with that thrust, especially that of jazz pianist, Bill Evans, the last contribution to this book, as well a notable forensic endeavor (pun intended), on the shipwreck of the HMS Bark Endeavour, the intrepid vessel, a converted collier (coal-carrier), that transported Captain James Cook on his epic voyages of discovery in the Pacific. Endeavour famously ran aground on the Great Barrier Reef during its master's initial foray into Australian waters. There is one case of suicide, American tenor, Jerry Hadley, and a brief horary investigation involving a lost credit card case, an occurrence of no small import!!Many of these essays have previously appeared in astrologer Smiljana Gavranic's excellent publication, Infinity Astrological Magazine, which she distributes from her native Serbia. The analyses of these horoscopes incorporate a range of traditional and innovative astrological techniques, as well as a number of chart wheels, in full color, and they would be of interest to fledgling astrologers who would wish to see astrology in action, as well as senior practitioners, and interested laypersons.
