Author Biography:

Brian started running while stationed on top of the world, at Thule Air Base, Greenland. As a "mostly unfit" 30-year-old male he decided to turn his life around, and ran 1200 miles that first year. In 2005, he ran his first marathon. Since that time he has run distances from 5k up to and including three 100-mile races, nine 24-hour events and successfully ran across the Grand Canyon Rim2Rim2Rim. Some other achievements and personal bests are: Marathon 3hr 53m 47s Umstead 100 miler, 21hr 36m 36s Graveyard 100 miler, solo, 23hr 05m 05s Grand Canyon Rim2Rim2Rim 19hrs 30m JFK50 Miler: 9hrs 36m 27s With over 20,000 miles, Brian is in his 17th year of being a serious runner and 10th year of focusing on Ultra-marathon events. One thing Brian found was that running, especially running ultra-marathons, was an adventure. These adventures fueled a desire to tell the story of the ultra-marathon runner and to educate and inspire others. This desire to tell a running based story kicked off two features being published in a national running magazine and gave birth to Running to Leadville, his first novel. Running to Leadville is a story about life as much as it is about running. The story defines the challenges of growing up in a divided family and the struggles of a young man to find himself. It also captures the heartbreak and despair of losing nearly everything. A story which may cause you to lace up your shoes, or it could cause you to look at life from a different lens. Running to Leadville is a tale from small town Pennsylvania to the Colorado Rockies and over Hope Pass. 26.2 Tips To Run Your Best Marathon, is a book aimed at the first time marathon runner or the veteran who is looking to improve their finishing times.
