22 Jump Street
22 Jump Street is a 2014 American comedy film on DVD and Ultraviolet,
directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, produced by and starring Jonah
Hill and Channing Tatum.
Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum reprise their roles as an unlikely pairing of
undercover cops in this action comedy sequel based on the 1980s TV series.
Following their success infiltrating a local high school, fresh-faced police
officers Morton Schmidt (Hill) and Greg Jenko (Tatum) are despatched to college
to try and crack a crime ring.
However, the different lifestyles available in college threaten to reawaken
old divisions, as Schmidt is drawn into a liberal artistic circle and Jenko
finds a home in the testosterone-fuelled domain of the football team. Will the
pair be able to put aside their differences and remain focussed on their
objective amidst the many opportunities and excesses offered by
college life?
Critic Reviews:
- " It's safe to say that it has been quite awhile since a film this
messy has also been such an absolute blast. " –
Richard Propes
- " If there's a funnier comedy sequel than 22 Jump Street, it probably
didn't suggest the studio should market an at-home children's shooting game
with phalluses as the targets. So, 22 Jump Street wins. " –
Ryan Syrek
- " 22 Jump Street is belly-aching, mickey-taking, cinema-shaking summer
comedy at its very best. " – Christopher Preston
