The wait is over (almost), stock of the most anticipated game of
2010, Halo:
Reach, arrived into our warehouse earlier this week. There are a
heap of you monkeys out there who have pre-ordered and are just waiting for
release day to come around so that you can save the universe or something like
that :P I figured that now would be a good opportunity to explain how our pre-ordering works.
Given that this is such a huge title, we often get asked by customers what
day their order will be shipped. We always ship one business day ahead of the
official release date. This means that customers will receive them on the day of
release (isn't that convenient?). Halo:
Reach is no different, it will be shipped out on Monday, and will be
delivered to our New Zealand customers on release day, Tuesday.
So why do we have the stock so early you ask? We wish we could say
it's because want to get an early start on the game, but alas we don't
(trust me we've tried :P). The truth is we have a ton of pre-orders for
this game (seriously, we have heaps!), and getting the stock early allows us to
pack all of the orders in advance to ease the pressure on the warehouse on
shipping day. This is particularly important now considering that business is
picking up as Christmas creeps up.

Christmas is mere months away and we need to make room in our warehouse for
all big titles that are being released in the lead up to it. You know –
Halo: Reach, FFXIV, Fallout: New Vegas, Fable III, GT5, COD: Black Ops
etc. – and that's just the tip of the iceberg!
The monkey's have devised a plan to clear the warehouse using banana shaped
sticks of dynamite (Yikes!). We're not so sure that that is the best course of
action so we have decided to have an End
of Month Games Blowout Sale instead.
Save up to 80% off over 900 games in the Mighty Ape End of
Month Games Blowout Sale. Swing through before the end of August to check out
all of the hot deals!
So once you've had a chance to do
your bit and help us free up some space in our warehouse (and avoid a
banana-flavoured apocalypse) how about you let us know what games you are
looking forward to over the next few months.
Our good friends at Gameplanet

Plus, we continue our series talking to competitive gamers in New Zealand by

for more information about how to win that.
Activision-Blizzard have announced the contents of the forthcoming Call

known as “the most anticipated game of 2010”; it's coming out on
November 9th by the way. Last go 'round they put functioning
night-vision goggles in the the Prestige Edition of the previous Call of Duty

Surveillance Vehicle (minus the ability to detonate obviously
:P). Have they outdone themselves? What's the opposite of “hell no”?
(The answer is “hell yes!” if that was too cryptic for you :P)
The Prestige Edition will contain:
- Call of Duty: Black Ops full game
- Remote Control RC-XD Surveillance Vehicle
- Premium, special-edition SteelBook™ case
- Limited edition Black Ops collector’s medal w/display case

Do you like mob flicks like The

You're not a big gaming release unless you have a cool special
edition! Part of the excitement about new games these days is the
anticipation of the special editions that are announced a few months before
release, I'm a real sucker for them.
I got the GTAIV
Special Edition back in 2008. I scored myself a Rockstar duffle bag and a
safety deposit box among other things. I used the duffle bag when I moved flat
and I also stashed some foreign currency in the safety deposit box once before
an overseas trip (not a good hiding place mind you, that box kind of screams out
“I have something valuable stashed inside” and is easliy
portable). Totally awesome and practical too :P I also bought the Alan
Wake special edition that came packaged in a box that was designed
to look and feel like a really fat book. In fact it came packaged with a book.
It had a short story “written by Alan Wake” and FBI dossiers about
the strange events taking place around Bright Falls. I read it too ('cos
I'm a nerd), but it was cool because it made the whole experience of
playing the game that little bit more immersive.
