Improving upon the success of the Backbeat Go 2, the team at Plantronics have gone ahead and made further improvements on the range by adding a more fitness minded product for all the active monkeys out there.

I already have all the affection in the world for the Backbeat Go 2, it was one of the first earphones that I genuinely wanted to use in the gym. Being detached from my phone was a must and they also needed to give me assurance I wasn't going to lose them when throwing around weights.

They still have all the same functionality as the Go 2, but with edgier styling and brighter color options to match up with all your gym gear.

The new ear wrap around design is awesome. The loop over the top actually holds the ear piece in far better than a typical bud design. There is no longer a need to jam a bud deep in your ear to hold it in place.

The band around the back of the neck is also shortened and it a little more rigid than the Go 2. This keeps it higher up your back so there is no need to worry about crushing your cable under the bar for a heavy squat.

So for an avid gym goer, these are a worthy upgrade from the Go 2. They even comes with neoprene sleeves to carry the earphones when thrown into your gym bag, and it can be reversed to reveal a arm band to carry your music player!
